Easing Back Into Action After Christmas – Quiz Nights, Birthday Parties & 80s Nostalgia!
After a well-deserved break over Christmas, Music & Mayhem is back doing what we love best – bringing fun, laughter, and entertainment across Lancashire! We eased back into 2025 with quiz nights, a brilliant 80s birthday party, and two fantastic children’s birthday parties. Here’s our first weekend roundup of the new year!
📅 First Weekend Back – January Events:
Wednesday: George’s First Quiz of 2026 🧠
Wednesday saw George kick off the new year with her weekly quiz night at The Birley Arms in Warton – the first one back after Christmas! Another packed house ready to test their knowledge.
There’s something brilliant about that first quiz back – everyone’s full of New Year energy, slightly rusty on their general knowledge after too much turkey, and ready for a laugh. The Birley was buzzing! These Wednesday nights have become a proper community tradition – same faces, same competitive spirit, same arguments over answers!
Friday: Tina’s 30th Birthday in Accrington 🎵
Friday night brought Dan to Accrington WMC for Tina’s 30th birthday party – and what a night it was!
80s nostalgia at its finest! From the moment the first synth notes kicked in, the dancefloor was packed. We’re talking proper 80s classics – Duran Duran, Wham!, Madonna, A-ha, Culture Club – the works!
There’s something magical about 80s music. It doesn’t matter if you lived through the decade or just discovered it – everyone knows the words, everyone’s got the moves (even if they’re questionable!), and everyone has an absolute blast. Tina and her mates danced all night. Happy 30th Tina – what a way to kick off your thirties! 🎂
🎈 Saturday: Emily’s 7th Birthday in Penwortham
Saturday saw George at Emily’s 7th birthday party in Penwortham – and seven-year-olds? They’re the BEST party age!
Here’s why seven-year-old parties are brilliant:
- They’re old enough to understand all the game rules
- They’re competitive enough to make it exciting
- They’re young enough to still have pure, unselfconscious fun
- They absolutely lose it over magic tricks
- And they go WILD for piñatas!
Emily’s party was packed with: 🎮 Action-packed games – Human Hungry Hippos had them screaming with laughter, musical statues got seriously competitive, and Space Hopper racing was absolute chaos (the best kind!)
🪄 Magic show fun – Emily became our magic assistant and absolutely nailed it. The look on her face when the trick worked? Pure gold. She got her wand and certificate to keep!
🎵 Limbo – How low can you go? Turns out seven-year-olds can go VERY low. Some of those moves were impressive!
🎉 Epic piñata – The grand finale! Watching kids take turns whacking a piñata never gets old. The excitement builds, someone finally smashes it open, sweets everywhere, kids scrambling – perfect party chaos!
🎶 Music and dancing – Chu Chu Wa, Superman, Big Fish Little Fish – Emily and her mates knew all the moves and sang along to everything!
Emily had the absolute time of her life. Parents could relax with a cuppa while we handled everything. That’s what the best childrens party entertainment in Lancashire looks like! 🎊
🎂 Sunday: Tobias’ 7th Birthday in Catterall
Sunday brought us to Catterall Village Hall for Tobias’ 7th birthday party – and Tobias wanted ENERGY!
Village halls are brilliant party venues – loads of space for running around, proper room for our equipment, and that community feel. Catterall Village Hall was perfect!
Tobias’ party was non-stop action:
🕺 Loads of dancing – We had the disco lights going, the music pumping, and Tobias leading the dancefloor! Seven-year-old boys have absolutely no inhibitions when it comes to dancing – they just go for it!
😄 Non-stop laughter – From the minute we started to the piñata finale, the room was filled with giggles, shrieks, and pure joy. This is what we live for!
🎮 Crazy fun and games – Go Fetch had them racing around, Sharkies Coming had them screaming, and the team games got properly competitive. Boys this age LOVE competition!
🎉 Another epic piñata finale – Seriously, piñatas are the PERFECT party ending. All that pent-up energy gets channeled into whacking a colorful container full of sweets. Everyone gets prizes. Everyone’s happy. Genius!
Tobias’ grin at the end said it all. Another brilliant children’s birthday party in Lancashire delivered by Music & Mayhem!
